The grant supplies communications assistance rather than cash, so applicants must show they lack internal capacity to produce media materials that reach employers in finance, pharmaceuticals, and logistics corridors.
Organizations based in Essex, Hudson, or Mercer counties face the strictest thresholds because state labor data list those areas as holding 62 percent of open tech positions. Applicants must submit proof of at least two years of service delivery within New Jersey and letters from local employers confirming they will consider program graduates. Out-of-state entities are ineligible even if they serve New Jersey residents.
Application materials must include the most recent Form 990, a board list, and a one-page statement detailing how proposed training curricula match occupational codes tracked by the New Jersey Department of Labor. Reviewers also require evidence that the organization has not received equivalent communications support from any federal workforce grant within the prior 24 months.
